Disco@Paradise has been established since 2000 and is made up of a team of DJs, currently with four experienced DJs available for gigs.  The advantage of having a team of dedicated and experienced DJs means that not only is Disco@Paradise able to assist several clients on the same night, we always have DJs available as back up and you can rely on our services.  In fact we are often asked to provide back up for other local DJs.

Our DJs range in age from 20s through to 40s and although all of us  can cater to any age group, it’s always nicer to be able to provide a direct age match where possable. O ur individual DJs are often requested for repeat clients.  Chris is the founder, main DJ and point of contact for all enquiries.

Chris Bromley

Chris is the founder of Disco@Paradise he is passionate about music and has been DJing for 15 years, nine of these in his own business.  He is well connected and respected in the industry and is often called upon to provide back up for other local DJs as well.  Chris has a strong music and technical background and state of the art equipment as well as great people skills and the ability to work with people of all ages and musical tastes.

During the day Chris works with Automated Music Systems (AMS), which provides music for the numerous pubs and cafes throughout New Zealand.  He builds the computers and loads updated music for bars and cafes with tailored music requirements to suit the individual needs of the clients.  Because of supplying the latest dance and club music Chris has to keep up to date with the latest Top 40, Kiwi and other music for clubs/cafes.

Chris’ technical skills mean that in the unlikely event of any technical problems he can quickly identify and solve the problems without any disruption to the music and the event.

Chris’ passion for music extends to dancing as well and he has been dancing since the mid 90s.  He initially began with Rock ‘n Roll, has done some ballroom and tango dancing, however his dancing passion is Ceroc, due to the wide range and style of music you can dance to with Ceroc.  As a Ceroc dancer who regularly DJs for Ceroc dance nights, parties and large balls he understands the needs of more serious dancers and keeps track of the latest dance music.

Chris doesn’t have a one size fits all’ approach to DJ ing, as he recognises that everyone is different with varying musical tastes and he will taylor music to the audience, irrespective of his personal taste. He is very skilled in reading a crowd and always open to requests, although will advise e people if he believes that choice may empty a dance floor and makes alternative suggestions.

What Chris loves most about DJing is sharing his passion for music with others, creating a great party atmosphere and helping people to enjoy themselves and have fun through music.  He finds it really rewarding to get positive feedback that people have enjoyed themselves and had a great time.

Gavin McGlashan

Gavin enjoys Rock n Roll music in fact he is the founder of and one of the main teachers at the Communtiy based Brooklyn Rock ‘n Roll Group in Wellington. During the day Gavin runs the Jims mowing regional franchise business with numerous franchisees around the greater Wellington region. Gavin has a strong love of music and has been DJing for Rock n Roll clubs for at least 15 years and his professional DJing experience has grown out of this. Gavin enjoys DJing because it encourages people to have fun and enjoy life. This enjoyment is reflected by having many people on the dance floor. Gavin is a family man and between gavin and his partner Sue, they have five children. He has been an active volunteer at Camp Quality for many years, which helps children who have been battling with cancer to have some much need fun and relaxation.

Linc Teal

Most important to Linc is the right music, -and volume level- for the occasion. Linc also finds positive feedback a rewarding and motivating bonus to a great event, and is not adverse to a little humor.

Sam Bradley

Sam is originally from the UK and has been a DJ since the late 90s, Sam is an early childhood teacher and works in a day-care centre during the day, so he is very patient, mature and easy going. Being in his early 20s he easily relates to a younger crowd and his maturity ensures that he is equally capable of DJing for older groups as well. He also dances Ceroc, as well as being one of the DJs at Ceroc, which plays a wide variety of music and caters for dancers of all ages.
